Attitude

Molly:  *trying to negotiate her way out of a nap after lying down for a bit*  But I don't need a nap. I think I have enough energy now.

Me:  This isn't about energy. It's about your attitude.

Molly:  Well, my attitude's gone now.

Time

Molly: *discussing her day on the drive home after school* I need to get my folder out and show you! *begins unzipping her backpack*

Me: Oh, honey, leave it in your backpack for now. We can get it out and look at it at home.

Molly: I don't have time for that.

Made of

Molly:  *showing me a little toy horse she got for good behavior*  It's so cute!  It's made of rubber and purple!

Thunder:  KA-BOOM!

Molly:  *looks at me with pure terror all over her face*

Charlotte:  *sits up with a huge grin*  More!

Compressed

Molly:  *pretending to be the teacher, talking to her imaginary students*  Oh, Camden, very good.  I am so compressed!  Go get a piece of candy.

Intense

Molly:  *lots of shouting and excitement as she explains one of her friend Matilda's new toys to Matilda's daddy Jason*

Jason:  Wow. Molly, you are an intense experience.

Molly:  I know.

Can I Just Sleep?

Me: *after picking Molly up from her first day of Kindergarten and talking to her a bit* You seem pretty tired.

Molly:  Yeah. There was no nap today.

Me:  Yeah, there aren't any naps in kindergarten.

Molly:  When we get home, I think I just want to sleep in the chair. In the big chair in the living room that rocks back and forth.

Me:  Well, we were supposed to go shopping for Matilda's birthday present, remember?

Molly:  Oh yeah. Well, can I just sleep in the shopping cart?

It's Big!

Molly:  *lots of incomprehensible, random, loud insanity*

Me:  *pulling her into a hug with a chuckle*  What in the world is going on in your crazy little brain, child?

Molly:  *with a huff*  It's NOT little.  It's big!  Dinosaurs have little brains.
